Metal Fabrication Estimator
Location: Poseyville, Indiana
Reports To: Engineering Manager
As Metal Fabrication Estimator, you will work directly with our customer base and members of our Business Development Team to provide accurate proposals or estimates of customer projects by gathering necessary information and analyzing important metrics. Projects are varied, but include miscellaneous metal, material handling, and modular building projects through a variety of industries including Heavy Industrial, Manufacturing, Commercial Construction, and Public Works.
Our ideal candidate will
Communicate directly with the customer to ensure all challenges are addressed with the proposed solution
Read, understand and interpret job bid instructions, construction documents, blueprints and detailed specifications for preparation of estimates
Work with team members, material suppliers, and subcontractors to produce project estimates
Perform all other duties as assigned and required
Follow all company and common-sense safety policies, while using all required personal protective equipment, when necessary
Contribute to our team environment by anticipating the needs of co-workers, bringing a positive attitude into our culture and showing an eagerness to discover and share new opportunities for our organization
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of steel components and properties
Prior estimating experience preferred but not required if you possess extensive experience in the trade
Ability to read design drawings required
Organized with extreme attention to detail
Ability to excel in a fast-paced and competitive environment
