JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Assistant Men's Ice Hockey Coach / Game Day Site Manager.

Department: Athletics.

Classification: Exempt.

FTE: 1.0.

Work Scle: This position is a full-time position that serves the athletic department. It requires a flexible work scle; nights and weekends are necessary, and traveling with teams is required.

Salary Range: $43,000-$45,000

Position Overview:

The St. Olaf Athletic Department is in search of a talented and hardworking assistant coach to be a member of a premier Division III men's hockey program in the country. This position is a full-time role within the athletic department. It requires a flexible work scle; nights and weekends are necessary, and traveling with teams is required. Game Day Site Manager - expectation is to cover all home games of the sport assigned, with some flexibility around recruiting and non-traditional seasons (if applicable).

Essential Job Duties:

Coaching:

Direct, organize, and administer all aspects of the instruction, practice planning, and advisement of the men's ice hockey program.

Assist the head coach in implementing training programs and practice plans.

Provide quality coaching and instruction to student-athletes during pre-season, in-season practices, andpetitions.

Mentor student-athletes to promote athletic, academic, emotional, and social growth.

Attend allpetitions and assist with game strategies.

Assist with travel arrangements, meal planning, fundraising activities, homepetition management, and equipment issue/return/care.

Attend athletic department staff meetings and program staff meetings.

Actively recruit qualified student-athletes.

Formulate and execute a recruiting plan with the head coach that targets a diverse group of potential student-athletes who can achieve high levels of success academically, socially, and athletically.

Execute the recruiting plan by attending junior hockey games, showcases, and camps regularly, maintain consistent, effective, honestmunication with potential student athletes, maintain contact with high school and junior hockey coaches, as well as parents and advisors.

Coordinate campus visits and participate in those visits in a professional manner.

Assist with opponent scouting, film review, and scouting reports. As well as individual/positional film review with current team members.

Support, respect, andmit to embracing diverse backgrounds, values, and points of view to build a strong and inclusivemunity.

Comply with all NCAA Division III, MIAC, and St. Olaf Bylaws.

Complete and meet deadlines for required training and performance management cycle.

Perform other duties as assigned by the head coach or athletic department.

Game Day Site Manager:

Secure and organize student workers.

Pre-Game set up.

In-Game problem-solve, crowd control, and provide a positive game day atmosphere.

Post-Game break-down and game report filed.

Supervision Received and Exercised:

Reports to the Director of Athletics.

This position supervises Students.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree.

Experience: Master's Degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: 1+ year of high school, junior hockey, or college coaching experience.

Experience: 3+ years of college coaching experience.

Prerequisites:
