Estimator I

The Estimator I will conceptualize, prepare, and deliver pricing proposals to Sales and/or customers. Responsible for reviewing and translating drawings, specifications, procedural information and preparing a qualified scope of work and bid proposal including accurate estimation of labor, service and material. Prepare detailed takeoffs from design renderings, specifications, and architectural and technical drawings. Comprehensively analyze plans, specifications, proposals, and additional documentation to prepare bid estimates for projects. Accurately estimate required labor, service, and materials necessary to fabricate and install product. Frequently communicate and collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Production and Project Management to understand scope, timelines, applicable project deadlines and any changes made to original proposal. Provide training and mentoring to new(er) estimating employees as needed. Create concise proposals specifically detailing inclusions, exclusions, clarifications to bid.Requires Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field and 3 years of estimating experience in construction, construction materials or custom manufacturing. Must have 3 years of experience working with take-offs, bid documents, scope sheets; reading and interpreting contracts, drawings, and specifications; and Microsoft Excel. Must have 2 years of experience estimating from conceptual, schematic and design development drawings. Scheduled remote work allowed in conjunction with required in office days in Louisville, KY. Must have legal authority to work in U.S. EEOE.
