Equipment Maintenance Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform basic preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a variety of equipment, ensuring they are in optimal condition for rental. This role also involves yard operations, parts inventory assistance, and the commissioning of new equipment. Responsibilities Perform basic preventative maintenance and minor repairs on all types of equipment specially generators. Document equipment status before and after rental, including work order details during repairs. Communicate equipment issues to customers, foreman, and supporting mechanics. Conduct yard operations, including loading and unloading equipment, performing check-in inspections, and fueling equipment as needed. Assist with parts inventory and create warranty claims for serviced equipment, as needed. Commission new equipment to prepare it for rental. Adjust various equipment settings and perform basic equipment repairs. Assist with the setup and delivery of equipment systems both in the shop and at customer job sites. Support experienced technicians with the delivery and installation of rented Power, HVAC/DH, Compressed Air, Pump Systems, and other equipment types. Document projects with daily notes, labor logs, and progress reports. Dispose of hazardous materials responsibly and safely, following company policy. Adhere to all safety standards. Be available for on-call emergency service as scheduled. Check general operation parameters on equipment, such as voltage on generators and PSI on air compressors. Essential Skills Electrical troubleshooting and repair skills. Field service and maintenance technician experience. Operational process/system aptitude. Basic knowledge of generators, power distribution, A/C, heaters, HVAC, and diesel-driven pumps. Understanding of diesel equipment, electronics, and hydraulics. Excellent customer service skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications 1-3 years of experience with repairing and maintaining Power/HVAC/Compressor/Pump equipment. Familiarity with similar equipment is preferred. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role requires physical activity, including bending, squatting, crouching, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Some tasks may involve driving for extended periods, loading and unloading heavy equipment, and working in extreme weather conditions or during nights and weekends.
