Responsibilities

  • Conduct review of permitting and construction documents for University Building Projects for Compliance with Florida Building Code.
  • Conduct inspection of construction activities on University Building Projects for Compliance with Florida Building Code.
  • Confer with project team members (Design Professionals, Contractors and University Project Managers, etc) regarding compliance with interpretation of applicable Codes.
  • Verify that construction personnel are appropriately licensed.
  • Assist with inspection activities associated with the University's MS-4 Stormwater permit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience. (Note: or a combination of post high school education/experience equal to four years.)
  • Ability to obtain provisional Building Inspector License within 120 days (Chapter 468 FL Statute) of employment and a standard license within one year of employment.
  • A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver's License or ability to obtain upon hire.

Considerations

This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.

Work schedule is 7:30am - 4:30pm with a 1 hour break.
