Responsibilities :
Retrieve scanned plans and set up bid folders on the estimating server.
Document weekly meeting minutes, including new plans, bid dates, and status updates.
Complete the Estimating Checklist for each project.
Maintain and update the bid board to track active bids.
Review project requirements and landlord preferences, including subcontractor specifications.
Collaborate with the Assistant Estimator to ensure accurate subcontractor bidding.
Issue bid invitations to subcontractors within 24-48 hours of receiving the bid package.
Coordinate site visit schedules during the bidding process.
Verify project timelines (start/end dates) are included in the bid.
Identify trades requiring subcontractor pricing and perform trade take-offs.
Conduct unit cost calculations to ensure pricing aligns with the project scope and budget.
Thoroughly review bid documents and plans to fully understand project scope.
Generate RFIs and collaborate with clients and architects as needed.
Develop Value Engineering (V.E.) options for cost savings and share with the client.
Prepare detailed estimates based on the client's bid form and separate budget.
Submit completed estimates to clients by the bid due date.
Create scope sheets to qualify and assess subcontractors.
Upon award, meet with the Project Manager to review project scope, buyouts, and budget.
Take notes during weekly meetings to track estimating-related actions.
Review calendar and ensure all bid submission deadlines are met.
Work with subcontractors to identify and evaluate V.E. options for inclusion in the bid.
Request and assess subcontractor labor rates and unit costs for accurate pricing.
MINIMUM OF 7 YEARS ESTIMATING EXPERIENCE is must!
