- Monitor and manage contractor activities to ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
- Review onsite construction work for compliance with Contract Drawings and Specifications.
- Facilitate communication between Owner and Contractor to ensure construction activities do not disrupt Owner operations.
- Assist with construction administration tasks such as RFIs, RFCs, field orders, claims, submittal and schedule reviews, meetings, and payment applications.
- Supervise and train Field Coordinators.
- Independently coordinate small to mid-sized projects or portions of larger projects.
- Manage a GLWA project with a duration of 5 years.
- Spend 85% of time in project management and 15% mentoring junior inspectors.

- Associate or Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, unless candidate has relevant experience.
- 7+ years of experience in construction administration, observation, or project management, preferably in water/wastewater treatment facility or industrial/manufacturing.
- Experience mentoring and managing junior staff while managing projects.
- Experience in construction inspection.
- Experience with municipal wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Bonus for candidates with water/wastewater or industrial/manufacturing project experience.
- Candidates with an electrical experience are preferred.
The position entails working 40 hours per week from 7 AM to 3 PM, predominantly onsite in Detroit for a 5-year-long GLWA project. You will work at various sites, primarily water/wastewater treatment facilities, and conduct office work in a nearby trailer or occasionally at the office in Southfield. The office lease is set to expire at the end of the year, with hopes to relocate to the Troy area. This role offers the opportunity to mentor a team of 4 junior inspectors, with guaranteed work for the next 5 years.
