Summary:
Performs routine and preventive maintenance to include: operating, cleaning, inspecting, troubleshooting, adjusting, tightening, replacing, lubricating, reporting problems and other similar tasks on a wide variety of low and high voltage electrical and electronic equipment and systems Reads, understands and interprets blueprints, drawings, floor plans, schedules and manufacturers operating and/or maintenance specifications as they relate to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC and special equipment, building structures and finishes. Maintains and performs repairs, modifications, replacements and installations of a wide variety of low and high voltage electrical and non-medical electronic equipment and systems for both existing facilities, new acquisitions and those under renovation, and includes equipment that is either fixed or portable. May be called upon to perform the work of other maintenance personnel or to assist in the completion of their work to include Senior Plant Operators, Operating Engineers, Senior Maintenance Mechanics, Maintenance Mechanics, Technicians, General Mechanics, Plumbers, Carpenters, Sheet Metal Workers, Masons, Plasterers, Painter, etc. Responds to requests for maintenance and service from building occupants to include: emergencies, maintenance problems, requested installations, modifications, repairs and adjustments, and other similar tasks

Responsibilities:
* Maintains and performs repairs, modifications, replacements and installations of fixed and portable electronic equipment and systems to include communications systems, security systems, fire detection and alarm system, audio/visual equipment, computers, HVAC controls, solid state relays, DDC and PLC Controllers, electronic testing equipment, nurse call systems, and other similar equipment.
* Maintains and performs repairs, modifications, replacements and installations of high voltage electrical and emergency equipment and systems to include electrical switchgear, transformers, primary electric and substation equipment, electric motors, emergency generators, emergency lighting systems, and other similar type equipment.
* Maintains and performs repairs, modifications, replacements and installations of electrical equipment and systems to include wiring, conduit, junction boxes, relays, switches, starters, receptacles, breakers, panel boxes, fixtures, electric motors, disconnects, motor control centers, lighting systems, major and minor appliances, electrically powered tools and equipment, battery and DC systems, and other similar type equipment
* Performs routine and preventive maintenance on fixed and portable electronic equipment and systems to include communication systems, security systems, HVAC controls, life safety systems, audio/visual equipment, electronic testing equipment and other similar type equipment.
* Performs routine and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and systems to include switchgear, breakers, panel boxes, relays, transformers, emergency generators, emergency lighting systems, motor controllers, powered tools and equipment, battery systems and other similar type equipment.
* React to emergencies and serve as a one person department during evenings and weekends.
* Perform maintenance and repairs on all hospital electrical equipment and distribution systems including high voltage (13.2 KV) systems and equipment.
* Repair and maintain hospital electromechanical equipment, i.e., refrigerators, sterilizers, ice machines, kitchen appliances, range / stove / cookers, electric beds, carts / tables / poles, hanging fixtures, light fixtures, and plumbing systems.
