Who we are looking for:
We are currently searching for an Operation Manager based out of Fort Mill, SC. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this person will manage the maintenance department, staff and the operations for the entire facility.
What you'll do
- Implement cost-effective systems of control over operating expenditures, headcount, wages, and salaries.
- Manage LDM toolsets, ManagerPlus (CMMS), and ERP transactions.
- Participate in regular cost and output reviews to ensure that absorption budgets are met.
- Optimizing equipment utilization, maintenance, labor and variable costs.
- Monitor overall plant performance for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses.
- Provide hands-on leadership and training to accomplish the company's goals and objectives.
- Working cross-functionally to schedule production lines.
- Provide Safety and Health direction and support to personnel; ensures compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Facilitate non-negotiable program management.
- Provide direction, development, and leadership to production supervisors and leads.
- Maintain and be accountable for KPI visual reporting while actively participating in Lean Daily Management activities, including GEMBA walk.
- Create and modify standardized work and ensure consistent application by all team members.
- Hold accountability for the hiring process, performance management, and compensation management.
- Execute mentoring programs as assigned.
What you'll bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of progressive supervisory and department management experience in a PVC manufacturing environment or prior success as a Production or Operations Manager or equivalent position at Atkore.
- Exposure to budgets and financial statements.
- Demonstrable knowledge of manufacturing methods, process improvement programs, and procedures.
- Advanced knowledge and experience of PVC pipe extrusion process.
- Ability to implement standard work and proven history of driving accountability.
- Proven history in onboarding and training PVC operators and material handlers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including being able to deliver bad news.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven experience developing supervisors.
- Available to occasionally work off shift to provide training and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives to all production shifts.
- Ability to work as a team member, a team leader, or as an individual contributor.
- Experience managing in a matrixed, mid-to-large organization.
Within 3 months, you'll:
Complete any required training.
Facilitate non-negotiable program management.

Within 6-months, you'll:
- Update training materials and procedures.
- Partner with Safety and HR to investigate and provide corrective measures for on-the-job accidents, injuries, production issues, and HR issues.
- Provide direction, development, and leadership to production supervisors and leads.
Within 12-months, you'll:
- Be managing an efficient team that delivers Atkore's strategy.
- Create and update reports, training materials and documentation.
- Have meaningful performance conversations with your direct reports.
- Be able to resolve any issues quickly and safely.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $105,600 - $145,200. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
