How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Project Engineer is expected to improve work process on IMS projects. The Project Engineer will also develop and execute projects to close IMS action items and conduct gap analysis for IMS convergence.

The IMS Project Engineer, reporting to the AMG Operations Support Process Engineering Manager, is responsible for leading the IMS (industrial management system) convergence process for Airgas Merchant Gases Production facilities through:

Improving the work processes and project management systems used to develop and execute projects to bring Airgas facilities into compliance with the Air Liquide Industrial Management System

Developing tools and systems to track project spending against budget across all IMS projects to ensure on budget and on schedule project execution

Conducting gap assessments of AMG facilities to identify areas of noncompliance with IMS guidance documents.

Developing solutions to close identified gaps through capital projects implementation. This includes adding equipment and instrumentation, replacing non-compliant systems, and instituting new control routines. This is done working with AMG experts in I/E, Controls, Process and Electrical Engineering

Participating in the creation, update and review of P&IDs, MOCs and SOPs.

Ensuring information and KPIs related to the IMS process performance are collected, analyzed and evaluated, and reviewed during management review meetings to track and communicate the progress made towards IMS convergence .

Supporting operating facilities at TARs and Derimes as necessary. IMS engineers are often used as additional engineering resources during busy turnaround times.

Manage projects in collaboration with Zone and site teams(upgrades and retrofits) at existing locations for IMS gap closure.

Develop designs, cost estimates, and economic justifications to facilitate the decision-making process at the plant and zone levels for IMS gap closure.

Generate Authorization for Capital Expenditure (CAR) requests and follow-up on the approval process.

Oversee project execution with the Plant Manager so that the end result meets the original requirements, in a timely manner and within budget.

Group IMS documents aim at maintaining organizational knowledge of the Air Liquide Group in order to achieve safe, environmentally compliant and reliable operation of its industrial processes.

Group Standards are IMS documents that provide the minimum technical requirements for safe, environmentally compliant and reliable operations. The IMS Project Engineer will own the implementation of the Group Standards for the Airgas Merchant Gases Facilities, and will develop work processes and systems to be used to more effectively and efficiently move towards compliance.
