Assistant Project Manager Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Project Manager to play a vital role in coordinating and developing long-range integrated portfolio plans for transmission projects. This position requires interfacing with planning portfolio engineers, client management, and sponsors to ensure project synergies and feasibility. Responsibilities Daily interface and coordination with planning portfolio engineers, client management, and client sponsors to develop the long-range integrated portfolio plan. Ensure synergies across projects are incorporated into the portfolio of work. Attend budget planning meetings with client stakeholders and ensure the incorporation of the long-range plan. Work with multiple client stakeholders to determine budget year for transmission projects based on feasibility, budget, and need. Support the client in the development of the 10-year plan. Help create and compile the client's rate filing. Review project change requests and reconcile with the existing and long-range portfolio of work. Work with outage coordination to assemble regional projects that do not cause conflicts, incorporating project constructability and the long-term plan. Informally mentor and train client's portfolio engineers on T&D Design and projects. Interface with the client's accounting group to establish financial setup for projects. Create analyses and reports to assist the client in tracking, coordination, and execution of projects. Build baseline scopes, schedules, and budgets to be released to multiple client stakeholders. Essential Skills Electrical engineering Power distribution Load flow Planning Engineer Project Management Distribution planning scheduling Distribution engineering Additional Skills & Qualifications 1+ years of electric/gas planning, transmission line, and/or substation experience preferred. High attention to detail and organization. Excellent communication skills and professional etiquette. 4-year engineering OR construction management degree required. Ability to coordinate projects across multiple organizations during the project initiation. Work Environment The position is based in a professional engineering office with a business professional attire requirement, and involves client-facing duties. Candidates must be comfortable with a field assignment lasting 12 months to 2 years, with site locations including southern Missouri, Kentucky, and Ohio.
