Engineering Team - Roles and Responsibilities The engineering team plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of the project by overseeing both design and critical construction activities. Their responsibilities include: Engineering Oversight - Monitor and follow up on all engineering work performed by EPC company, acting as the Engineer of Record (EOR), to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards. Construction Support - Follow up on-site construction activities carried out by EPC company, addressing and resolving any site queries raised in the form of Requests for Information (RFIs). Submittal Review Coordination - Track and monitor the flow of submittals from subcontractors to EPC companies. Ensure that all submittals meet the required project specifications and standards. As-Built Documentation, as part of the Life Cycle Information (LCI) delivery - Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of as-built documentation to Company's systems, supporting a smooth transition to operational readiness. Role: Mechanical Engineer The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for overseeing all mechanical engineering activities related to the project. This includes the design, specification, and installation of mechanical systems and equipment in both the staging area and the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) base, covering: Mechanical equipment installations HVAC systems within the O&M base Plumbing systems Fire safety systems The Mechanical Engineer ensures that all work is executed in compliance with project specifications, Company's governing documentation, and relevant standardswhile adhering to budget and schedule constraints. In addition, the Mechanical Engineer serves as the Project Engineer for the temporary facilities to be constructed on-site, including the temporary warehouse and office. Other project-related tasks may be assigned as needed. Key Responsibilities Oversee all mechanical engineering activities related to the project. Ensure that technical solutions are developed in alignment with: Project specifications, local codes, rules, standards and regulations (e.g. NYCDOB) Input from technical leading advisors within the base organization Company's governing documentation Industry best practices Requirements and expectations of the Operations department Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure integration of mechanical systems with other disciplines. Support procurement, construction, and commissioning phases with mechanical expertise. Monitor contractor performance and ensure quality and timely delivery of mechanical scope. Actively contribute to risk management and change control processes within the mechanical discipline. Tasks and deliveries Monitor Contractor Performance - Continuously follow up on the contractor's mechanical engineering activities and performance to ensure alignment with project expectations. Ensure Design Compliance - Confirm that Company requirements are clearly understood by the contractor and fully implemented in the mechanical design. Evaluate Change Proposals - Review proposed changes for constructability, schedule impact, and safety considerations. Prepare necessary documentation for internal approval processes. Risk Management - Provide input to the Project Risk Register based on identified risks within the mechanical engineering discipline. Follow up on mitigation actions in accordance with agreed plans. Cross-Functional Communication - Maintain proactive and effective communication with Construction, Commissioning, and Operations teams to ensure coordination and alignment. Life-Cycle Information (LCI) Delivery - Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of LCI to the Company's systems and the Operations department, maintaining quality standards. Interface and RFI Coordination - Participate in meetings with contractors to address Requests for Information (RFIs) and resolve interface issues. Alignment with Partner - Ensure that technical solutions for temporary facilities are developed in coordination with and aligned to Partner's requirements. Site Presence and Inspections - Conduct regular and ad-hoc site inspections and walkthroughs as required by ongoing project activities. Safety Leadership - As a representative of the Company, act as a safety ambassadorpromoting a culture of safety and zero harm within the team and among contractors.
