Heavy Equipment Operator

Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury or

property damage.

Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation,

policies and procedures

Perform daily safety and maintenance checks

Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required

Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored

Advise Operations of any requirements for maintenance or repairs

Participate in routine maintenance

Practice workplace safety

Perform daily vehicle inspection report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to

the vehicles before and after each route.

Ensure safe loading, transfer and unloading of materials to and from work sites

Knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques

Must be able to perform physical labor activities while standing, walking or kneeling for long

periods of time, which may include work within confined spaces.

Ability to lift or exert force exceeding 50 lbs.

Must be capable of understanding instructions provided in the English language

Minimum Training Requirements

Valid CDL License, Class A or Class B

Hazmat and Tanker endorsed

Good driving record, experience driving a variety of vehicles

Ability to pass a physical and drug test

Support a culture of Safety First

TWIC

Good driving record, experience driving a variety of vehicles

MA and RI license for hydraulics/hoisting

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00/hr.
