Construction Superintendent (Interiors)

We are seeking an experienced Sr Superintendent specializing in interiors to support a General Contractor client on a VMI project. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all construction site activities, ensuring efficient use of materials, tools, equipment, and labor to complete the project successfully.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the construction site and oversee all activities.
  • Direct material, tools, equipment, and labor used in construction activities.
  • Responsible for site logistics, scheduling, quality control, safety, field office operations, and overall morale.
  • Coordinate work of all field employees, including Foremen, Field Engineers, Assistant Superintendents, and Superintendents.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of all subcontractor foremen.
  • Develop and update the baseline project schedule, maintain project timelines, and create two-week look-ahead schedules.
  • Conduct daily inspections to identify potential problems and develop solutions, implementing the Quality Control Program.
  • Obtain competitive prices on rentals and manage equipment rental and termination processes.
  • Perform safety inspections, conduct weekly toolbox talks, ensure the M.S.D.S. system is in place, and install safety signage.
  • Maintain daily reports, time sheets, purchase orders, and a purchase order log.
  • Provide on-the-job training for field staff and attend in-house and external training programs.
Essential Skills
  • 10 years of experience as a Superintendent, ideally in government or commercial interiors.
  • Experience with General Contractors.
  • Degree in a related field (Associates degree is acceptable).
  • Strong construction management and supervision skills.
  • Subcontract management experience.
  • OSHA certification (10-hour course).
  • CPR certification.

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $210000.00/yr.
