AWS Architect with Java

We have an immediate need for an experienced AWS Architect with a strong background in Java-based application development to join our team supporting a major client in the Airlines domain. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of overall IT experience, including at least 10 years in application and cloud architecture, and a solid command of AWS services such as EC2, RDS, and S3. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity based in Atlanta, GA, and requires five days a week onsite presence

To be successful in this position, one needs to be highly skilled in designing and implementing cloud-native applications, managing full-stack Java development using Spring Boot and Microservices, and leading data migration initiatives from on-prem to cloud. Hands-on experience in automation using CI/CD pipelines, Terraform or CloudFormation, and infrastructure-as-code is essential. The candidate must also have a strong understanding of microservices principles, design patterns, and modern DevOps practices, along with excellent communication skills to effectively liaise between technical teams and business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should also demonstrate the ability to handle ambiguity, manage stakeholder expectations, and translate business requirements into technical solutions. Prior experience in the airline domain and knowledge of FinOps are considered a plus. AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer are preferred and will be advantageous.
