Job Description

AWS FinOps Architect

We have an immediate need for a skilled AWS FinOps Consultant to support one of our key clients in the Airlines domain. This role is based in Atlanta, GA, and follows a hybrid model requiring three days a week onsite. The selected candidate will play a critical role in driving cloud cost optimization strategies by working closely with FinOps, CFO, CloudOps, and IT Operations teams. This position requires deep knowledge of the AWS platform and the ability to lead initiatives related to FinOps analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and governance.

To be successful in this position, one needs to be highly proficient in establishing and managing FinOps processes including spend baselining, budget threshold alerts, forecasting deltas, and reservations reviews. The candidate should be able to drive architectural discussions, build operational roadmaps, develop dashboards for governance, and introduce detective, corrective, preventive, and deterrent controls to manage cloud spending. Strong collaboration with stakeholders from engineering, business, sourcing, and operations is essential to promote a culture of FinOps and operational change management (OCM). FinOps Certification is mandatory.

The role also includes implementing tagging standards for both current and future workloads, setting up real-time data streams for spend and consumption visibility, and cross-leveraging observability tools to inform optimization actions. Experience in automation, establishing standard operating procedures, and optimizing sourcing strategies such as Savings Plans or Reserved Instances is crucial.
