Scope of Responsibility:
This position performs production within prescribed codes, and according to prescribed procedures, specifications, and drawings. Must complete Welder Training Program
by passing a GMAW 2G qualification weld test that meets visual and bend testing acceptance criteria. As an applicant, a 2F Evaluation will be administered to determine skillset and knowledge base before being offered the Welder Trainee position.
Essential Duties:
Knowledge of general safety guidelines. Sabre specific safety guidelines will be taught on site.
Wears required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Works Independently with minimal supervision on assignments. Displays a strong sense of ownership for work.
Flexible and Adaptable: has the ability to readily switch tasks when directed.
Sabres quality expectations and application in the workplace will be taught during onboarding and On the Job Training.
Basic understanding of blueprints and weld symbols.
Adjust welding machines within parameters of welding procedure specifications (WPS).
Frequently pushes, pulls and lift up to 50 pounds.
Uses oxy-fuel torch to pre-heat parts to be welded in accordance with welding procedure specifications (WPS).
Uses GMAW welding process to weld small components or assemblies.
Uses chipping hammer, wire brush, and grinders at various times to clean weld joints and finished welds.
Uses magnetic drills to drill various size holes on pole assembly as required by drawings.
