We are seeking a thoughtful and experienced Senior Architect to join our collaborative team.
Position Overview:
The Senior Architect will lead design and documentation efforts on custom residential projects from concept through construction. This role requires both creative and technical leadership, with a strong grasp of permitting processes, construction documentation, and client coordination. You will work closely with principals, clients, consultants, and city agencies to deliver refined, buildable designs.
We are looking for a Senior Project Architect to work full time in our office in Hancock Park, California. Position can include two days of remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee architectural design and project documentation from pre-design through construction administration
Manage project schedules, consultant coordination, and client presentations
Oversee drawing sets in Revit, ensuring clarity, consistency, and technical accuracy
Prepare and submit planning, zoning, and building permit applications; coordinate with jurisdictions and expediters as needed
Mentor and review work of junior staff and contribute to team development
Uphold and refine the firm's design standards and detailing ethos
Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and collaborators throughout the life of the project
Qualifications:
Licensed Architect preferred (or on path to licensure with strong technical experience)
Minimum 8 years of professional experience, with a focus on high-end custom residential projects
Proficient in Revit (required), Adobe Creative Suite, and general project management tools
Deep understanding of residential permitting processes (especially within Los Angeles City)
Experience in commercial projects is a plus
Strong design sensibility with attention to detail and materials
Experience with construction administration and job site coordination
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Local candidates only, must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred:
Experience with sustainable design practices and codes (e.g., CALGreen)
Familiarity with local building codes and zoning regulations (e.g., LAMC, BHO, BMO)
Passion for contextually sensitive, enduring residential design
