Position: Architectural Designer / Architect
Cedar is on a mission to help urban housing developers in America's growing cities acquire land and build more housing as quickly as possible. To support this mission, we're looking for a talented Architectural Designer/ Architect to join our Design Team and make significant contributions to the execution of projects.
In this role, you will be an integral part of Cedar's mission to deliver world-class projects and will be responsible for the development and documentation of assets that are delivered to our clients, from land planning phases through construction documents. Alongside your day-to-day responsibilities, you will also work closely with our generative design teams to create cutting-edge solutions that help Cedar improve internal workflows to deliver projects faster and more efficiently. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your creative design skills at a technology startup committed to solving real-world problems. You'll continue to learn and develop your architectural design skills while getting the opportunity to absorb experiences across cross-functional roles. Qualifications Required:
Work Experience:
0-6 years of experience in an architectural office
Education:
BS in Architecture, 5-year BArch or MArch degree preferred
Skills:
Communication: Excellent graphic, verbal and interpersonal skills to be able to positively engage with team members and clearly articulate ideas. This includes being able to quickly learn from mentors and implement new skills.
Technical: Your ability to demonstrate an understanding of building systems, code requirements, specifications, and construction techniques will help ensure seamless collaboration with multidisciplinary internal and external teams. Software preferred: Rhino, Revit, AutoCAD, rendering software, and Adobe Suite; Experienced with visual scripting and parametric tools such as Grasshopper and Dynamo are a plus but not required.
Organizational: Strong organizational skills will allow you to quickly move between tasks and help progress projects through their various phases.

Modeling Residential Projects
Creating Construction Documents
Assisting with presentations
This position reports to the Studio Director
Compensation / Benefits:
Competitive full-time annual salary (Cedar bases salaries on AIA and industry-wide data to make sure they are both competitive and fair, based on experience and role/responsibilities.)
Annual bonuses based on overall company and employee performance

Fees for architecture license (TX Only) covered annually, and an annual stipend for continuing education, professional seminars/conferences or other architectural organization fees to be used as employee sees fit
