DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
Install and maintain air handling and refrigeration equipment based on manufacturers recommendations and accepted trade standards; Inspect and tests HVAC systems using meters, testers, air flow gauges to insure proper operation of equipment.
Repair HVAC equipment, adjust valves, run refrigerant lines, perform piping installation / replacement.
Fabricate, modify, and install ductwork and ventilation components.
Troubleshoot electronic and pneumatic control systems.
Perform assessments and estimates on jobs including detailed reports
Capable of operating computer systems including but not limited to : Building Automation software (BAS) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems CMMS.
Assess, modify, and repair building control systems.
Ability to apply creative solutions to unique problems encountered in the healthcare setting. Demonstrate knowledge and skill in the use of refrigerants meeting all EPA standards.
May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two (2) years of HVAC experience in a commercial, residential, or industrial setting.
EPA CFC Section 608 Universal certification for refrigerant handling within six (6) months as a condition of continued employment in this job classification. Incumbents in this position as of May 2017 are exempt.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in Heating, Cooling and Refrigeration Technology (HVAC) or certification from an accredited HVAC & R college.
HVAC Apprenticeship or five (5) years of HVAC experience in a commercial, residential, or industrial setting.
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and may require ambulating, remaining in a stationary position, and positioning self to reach and/or move objects above the shoulders and below the knees. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
