The Mississippi Department of Transportation is responsible for providing a safe intermodal transportation network that is planned, designed, constructed, and maintained in an effective, cost efficient, and environmentally sensitive manner.
About the Position
This position is in the Materials Division. First-level supervisory position accountable for overseeing technical support to construction projects, traffic control and safety, research and development, roadway design, right of ways, testing, transportation planning and bridges. Jobs at this level inspect concrete plants and mix designs, inspect and supervise paving and bridge construction, and conduct more complex tests on construction materials. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations; training; work planning, assignments, and review; and performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. Supervision at this level also requires these employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen. Typically requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and 8+ years of experience
