The Mechanical Engineering department in the Shipboard Effectors Department is currently searching for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to work on a multi-discipline team to support Shipboard Effectors products and subsystems located in Tucson, AZ.

This is an on-site role.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement a Transition to Production (TTP) execution strategy for an electronics system, ensuring alignment across Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTLs).

  • Identify and address constraints through the CORE Control Room to ensure smooth production flow.

  • Coordinate and support program proposals, capital requests, and submissions related to the TTP process.

  • Manage and execute the scope of work under a Transition to Production proposal.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (OPS, QA, SCM, etc.) to align strategies and ensure successful project execution.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and achieve MRL goals.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a mechanical engineering role, with a focus on production transition.

  • Proven experience in developing and executing TTP strategies.

  • Strong understanding of Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) processes and requirements.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience working in the aerospace and defense industry.

  • Familiarity with CORE Control Room processes.

  • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
