VOLT is hiring a remote Engineering Technical Lead (with PE) for the natural gas industry working with a transmission engineering team. The Engineering Technical Lead (PE) will lead complex design projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure high-quality deliverables. This role requires mastery-level proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Civil3D, and MicroStation, and a strong background in both 2D and 3D modeling. Your responsibilities include: Lead the development and execution of complex CAD design projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to project timelines. Prepare detailed project estimates for CAD-related activities, including labor hours and cost projections for proposals. Maintain advanced technical expertise in drafting and design, providing innovative solutions to design challenges. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including engineering, project management, and construction. Produce and review high-quality 2D and 3D models for a variety of infrastructure and civil engineering projects. Stay current with the latest advancements in CAD software and tools; evaluate and recommend upgrades or new technologies. Develop, implement, and maintain CAD standards, technical documentation, templates, and user interfaces. Provide training, mentorship, and ongoing technical support to CAD and design staff to foster continuous improvement. Work closely with the CAD Manager to align team goals with organizational objectives and ensure consistent design practices. This is a Full-time, Direct Hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have: Professional Engineer license or currently in the process of obtaining licensure (any state is OK) Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Engineering or a related field Mastery level of proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation) Experience preparing project estimates of CAD-related activities (hours and cost) for proposals Advanced experience producing 2D and 3D models Provide training, mentorship, and ongoing support to design staff Work on and review complex design projects Report to and work closely with the CAD Manager Salary : $104,000-166,400/year *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc. Benefits: Since this is a Direct Hire role, benefits will be provided by the employer.
