Position / Title: Electrician

Position Summary

Maintains, installs and repairs to electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment.
  • Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment,and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning transformers, motors and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices.
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electrical components, such as printed circuit boards.
  • Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
  • Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
  • Performs monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual preventive maintenance on assigned distribution systems and reports corrective actions required.
  • Maintains lock Out tag Out log.
  • Maintains electrical Personnel Protective Equipment records for compliance.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Two-year certificate from college or technical school
  • Three (3) years related experience in healthcare facilities
  • Any federal or state required licenses and certifications.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry our instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • National Journeyman Electrician License or Master Electrician Certification
