Plumbing Estimator is responsible for conducting the full bid process, from reviewing plans to final proposal submission, with an emphasis in precision, competitiveness, and profitability. This individual will act as a key contributor in project pursuits, and coordinate with the field and project management teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze architectural drawings and identify value-engineering opportunities.
Provide detailed material and labor takeoffs using AutoBid software.
Organize and thoroughly review set of plans to take-off and prepare scope of work and price proposals to meet customer deadlines.
Process RFI submissions, change orders, and ensure proper documentation throughout the bid process.
Review all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Mentor and support estimators to ensure consistent quality and accuracy.
Follow up on Proposals to secure jobs, track awarded jobs, and participate in project handoff and kickoff meetings.
Prepare Schedules of Values for projects awarded.
Effectively communicates with Foremen about project details, scope coordination, and problem-solving.
Maintain regular communication with internal and external customers.
Schedule:
M-F, 8 am-4:30 pm
Qualifications:
5+ years proven experience in construction estimating and cost control
Strong knowledge of pricing strategies in the plumbing industry
Proficiency in AutoBid software
Understanding of contracts and construction site operations
