- Coordinate the projects design and engineering requirements with the project engineering departments.
- Distribute design information and meeting notes to the design team.
- Assist in preparing project budget hours for the design engineering department.
- Conduct engineering surveys, research, and code analysis/interpretation.
- Compile data from building codes, field surveys, system specifications, handbooks, and other sources required for project design.
- Prepare preliminary concept drawings.
- Analyze project information.
- Prepare engineering calculations and energy simulations.
- Select and specify systems and equipment.
- Prepare engineering reports.
- Prepare contract documents, including plans and specifications.
- Manage the flow and progress of the design engineering, ensuring timely completion within budget.
- Review plans and specifications for engineering accuracy, office quality standards, conformance to scope of work, design criteria, and general coordination issues.
- Attend design review meetings with engineering departments.
- Manage scheduling of necessary in-progress meetings with the design team and engineering departments.
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, conduct site observation visits, prepare field reports, and attend construction meetings.
- 5+ years of experience working on AEC projects (NOT PRODUCT DESIGN)
- Building design experience required
- Proficiency in electrical engineering and electrical design.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
The team operates from three offices, with 32 people in the main location, and two smaller offices. While primarily based in the main office, the role may require work from other locations if necessary. In-office presence is required on Mondays and Thursdays, with the option to choose third day. Occasional on-site work may be necessary. The role offers annual bonuses, profit sharing, a 401K plan, and three weeks of PTO, with the possibility of earning more with tenure. Projects span various sectors, including K-12 education, healthcare, religious, multi-family, and commercial projects.
