The Facilities HVAC Technician is responsible for all facility systems such as Air Compressors, Steam Boilers, Water Heaters, DI Water Systems, Waste Water Systems and HVAC systems on the roof supporting the entire facility. This includes critical / non-critical Facilities and Manufacturing support equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Primary responsibilities are to:
- Troubleshoots various types of HVAC/R equipment malfunctions to identify and correct issues. Initiates follow-up actions as required.
- Maintains, repairs and/or replaces various controls, including DDC and pneumatic.
- Monitors various Facility Systems daily via BMS. Acknowledges and responds to BMS alarms.
- Seeks ways to increase equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Oversee the troubleshooting and repair of steam, water, and utility distribution equipment and systems.
- Provide technical support to other Facility Services teams, Engineering projects, and other departments.
- Responsible for the replacement, and installation of all site-wide equipment to maintain a quality cGMP facility at the site
- Assist Technicians with preventative and corrective maintenance in all manufacturing and facility support areas.
- Process and Pperforms preventative and corrective maintenance duties and document with sites computerized maintenance management system.
- Ensure all work is properly documented according to policies, procedures and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Evaluate system failures. Seek ways to increase equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Oversee contracted maintenance service providers and contractors while they are on-site performing maintenance, repairs and projects on buildings, systems and equipment.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Massachusetts Refrigeration Technicians License
- Universal EPA Certification
- HS Diploma or equivalent certification
- Minimum of 105+ years experience with Commercial HVAC equipmentof Facility Engineering experience required.
- Proficient with Building Management Controls (Trane Tracer Ensemble BMS).
- Prior cGMP experience is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word and Excel preferred.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Must have the ability to multi-task and coordinate workload by priority.
- Must be customer service and quality driven.
- Strong analytical skills, particularly with respect to identifying and implementing technical solutions to process, utility and facility equipment / systems.
- Must comply with all applicable rules and regulations of Emergent and the Pharmaceutical / Biotech industry. This includes FDA regulations such as cGMP, GDP, EH&S regulations and company regulations such as the employee handbook.
- Universal CFC certification required. Additional electrical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, Grade 2 I waste water license is preferred.
