AECOM is seeking an experienced On-site Construction Inspector to support projects with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Fort Worth District at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vertical construction inspection, a solid understanding of federal safety and quality standards, and hands-on experience with the Resident Management System (RMS).

Key Responsibilities

Inspection of Contractors Work. Provide inspection of work in place, and review of the construction contractors submittals, to provide an opinion or recommendation to the appropriate Government employee(s) as to whether work is in full compliance with the contract plans and specifications. This will be included in the Daily Report of surveillance activities in the USACE Resident Management System (RMS). Reports will be entered into RMS and submitted via email to the project engineer daily.

Inspection of Contractors On-Site Plant, Materials and Equipment > Provide inspection of the contractors on-site plant (storage yards and temporary facilities), materials and equipment, to provide an opinion or recommendation to the appropriate Government employee(s) as to whether they are in full compliance with contract plans, specifications, EM 385-1-1 and OSHA requirements. This will also be included in the RMS daily report.

Observation of Contractors Methods > Observe construction contractors, and subcontractors performance of work, to provide an opinion or recommendation to the appropriate Government employee(s) as to whether they are in full compliance with contract plans, specifications, EM 385-1-1 and OSHA requirements. This will also be included in the RMS daily report.

Schedule Analysis > Proficiency in current versions of Microsoft Project and Primavera P6. Determine the impact of any out-of-sequence work and evaluate the reason so as not to affect the critical path. >Review contractor schedules for conformance with sound construction methodology, sequencing, and contract compliance.

Minimum Requirements:

• HS + 10 Years of relevant experience in construction practices, procedures, and testing, and large vertical DoD construction projects.
• Due to the nature of the project US citizenship is required
• Up to 50% of the time the position needs to move about indoor and outdoor construction site environments with uneven terrain, variable environmental conditions including heat, dusts, noise, moisture, and dryness
• Occasionally (10-25% of workday) performing repetitive bending/stooping, repetitive or fine hand movements, working at heights, and lifting and carrying equipment weighing less than 25 pounds
• At times the position requires working with arms above shoulder level, power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.), climbing stairs, using portable ladders, wearing fall protection, working in confined spaces, and lifting greater than 25 pounds
• The position requires wearing associated personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to gloves, safety glasses/goggles, face shield, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, hearing protection, and fall protection

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience on similar DoD installations
• Prior USACE experience
• OSHA 30 Certification
• Experience using Microsoft Office and experience using RMS.

• Relocation assistance is not available for this position
• Due to the nature of the project US citizenship is required
