Design Engineer

Job Task

• Work with customers on new designs including generating engineering drawings of the final product with all needed information to manufacture a quality product.
• Work with salesman on industry needs while creating quality designs along with choosing the most economical material that meets customer’s requirements.
• Assist production with any questions or problems that may occur.
• Update drawings and ERP program with any changes or revisions made.
• Research any customer complaints regarding the products in the field and correct the design and/or process to remedy the issue.
• Propose any new ideas concerning production and/or the product to increase quality or production.
• Update all models and drawings to the current dimensions.
• Any other tasks assigned by Manager

Desired Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• 3-5 years of related experience
• Hog industry experience and knowledge desired
• Experience in Microsoft Office products
• Sheet metal design experience desired
• Knowledge and experience with brake press operation.
• Proficient in Solid Works, specifically sheet metal applications
• Knowledge of standard drafting methods and formats.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Strong Team Building skills
