**Job Description:**

We are seeking a **_Lead Traffic Engineer_** to join our team in the **_Ohio_** area and serve as our **_Traffic Engineering Leader_** in any Ohio office **_._**

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys leading and managing technical teams to mentor and grow a high-performing staff team. Verdantas team is well-positioned for growth and is seeking a positive, engaging leader to expand our traffic and transportation services throughout the region.

The Lead Traffic Engineer will have demonstrated leadership and technical experience in Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and municipal projects. Shaping our communities and infrastructure by leveraging their skills and through their commitment to the client and the team, our employees will experience a fulfilling and enriching professional career through our organizational focus on People, Sustainability, and Technology.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Oversee and manage traffic engineering studies and design projects from the planning phases through final construction plans

+ Manage project teams to ensure project completion by the defined deadline, within the established budget while providing a high-quality product for our clients

+ Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers

+ Meet with clients, both internal and external, to understand project needs and provide guidance and strategy on transportation related aspects of projects

+ Understand and be able to communicate the study and approval processes for various studies required by regulatory agencies

+ Prepare project proposals, including developing scopes of work, fees, and schedules, as part of project development for a wide variety of projects ranging in size and complexity

**Qualifications:**

+ Bachelors degree in civil engineering or a related field from ABET accredited engineering program

+ 10+ years' experience in civil and traffic engineering

+ Professional Engineering License (PE) required and Professional Traffic Operations Engineer Registration (PTOE)

+ Experience working with both public and private clients

+ Experience working with both local and state agencies

+ MicroStation and Geopak experience, required

+ HCS software and Synchro VISSIM and/or TransModeler experience

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills

+ Proven ability to mentor staff and grow a high-performing team

**Salary Range**

$110,000 to $140,000
