Position Summary
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:
Shared responsibility for finished goods meeting or exceeding customer expectations
Set up ovens, die, and mandrel
Understand the extrusion and inspection process (training required)
Setup and operation of extruders
Produce preform for extruders
Operate hydraulic machinery
Load machines and input machine settings per instructions
Follow directions from drawings, standard work and work instructions
Sets wall on tubing by using micrometers
Identify material by barcode system for each job
Make labels for tubing and properly complete production reports (per work instructions)
Prepare for upcoming jobs
Review drawings for special notes on packaging and special length requirements of tubing
Adhere to quality standards and guidelines. Maintain accurate records
Maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion, follow 5s practices
Report production issues to Value Stream Team Leader
Perform work of an equal or lower classification
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (relevant experience, education and/or training):
High School Diploma or GED, recognizes International Diplomas (may need to be translated to English)
U.S. Citizen or permanent residency status required
Prior extrusion experience (1-2 yrs) preferred.
Must be able to read work orders and interpret manufacturing specifications, understand and use shop math, use and interpret measuring instruments (calipers, stop watch, gauges, calculator, etc.)
Must be able to demonstrate ability to operate department equipment
Must be able to adapt to production needs to satisfy customer demands
Must be able to work and communicate with peers
Must be able to write legibly, read and speak English
Basic understanding of lean fundamentals preferred
Physical & PPE Requirements:
Standing, bending, carrying, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crouching, reaching, banging, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), walking, working under normal conditions. Exposure to fluropolymer resin and isopar. Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and ear plugs (85-90 dB) are all required PPE. Knee pads and gloves are optional PPE. All PPE provided by Company
