If you're a detail-oriented drafting professional who enjoys turning technical ideas into precise, industry-compliant drawings, this is a great opportunity to support high-impact simulation and training equipment projects. A growing engineering and manufacturing team is seeking a CAD Designer/Drafter to support government and defense contracts, working closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to bring full-scale systems to life. In this role, you'll create 3D models, produce engineering drawings, generate bills of materials, and update as-built documentation. You'll also assist in drawing package reviews, ensure compliance with industry standards, and manage design data within a Product Data Management system.

Responsibilities:
Create and update 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks
Translate reference materials, such as photos, sketches, existing parts, or customer files, into CAD models
Prepare installation, assembly, and detail drawings to meet customer or industry standards
Generate and maintain engineering documentation, including bills of materials, wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical assembly drawings
Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with ASME Y14.100 or customer standards
Support the creation of process diagrams, block diagrams, drawing trees, and illustrations for manuals, proposals, and presentations
Maintain and update product metadata using a Product Data Management (PDM) system
Contribute to drawing package reviews and assist in final submittal preparation
Collaborate with both electrical and mechanical engineers to support timely project delivery
Perform other duties as needed to support project execution

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent required
2-5 years of hands-on drafting experience preferred
Proficiency in standard office software, including the Microsoft Office suite, is required.
Proficiency in SolidWorks required; AutoCAD experience a plus
Familiarity with ASME Y14.100 standards is strongly preferred
Experience with SolidWorks PDM or similar configuration management tools is a plus
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Must be able to read and critically analyze engineering prints
