Functional Title: Entry Level Environmental Engineer : 197668
Pay Range: USD 28.70 /hr. - USD 39.47 /hr. (Depends on experience)
Hours: Monday-Friday (8:00 AM until 5:00 PM w/ 1 hour lunch)

Scope:
Provides technical support to the Environmental Management Department with activities regarding environmental regulatory compliance with THE CLIENTS operations. Specific activities required will depend on the assigned area of responsibility from the following list:
Air pollution control
Wastewater treatment
Solid and hazardous waste
Toxic chemical releases
Chemical usage
Stormwater
Environmental Management System
Required documentation.
Environmental training
Environmental communication campaigns
Environmental compliance reporting
Environmental auditing
Responsibilities
Develops, presents, and explains proposals, reports, and findings to management.
Monitors new regulations, legislation and permits for the above assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Analyzes and assesses the potential impact on company operations.
Develops, implements, and audits cost-effective methods for compliance with requirements.
Creates process sheets and work instructions detailing specific requirements to ensure a high level of environmental performance in plant operations.
Determines necessary actions, communicates such to affected departments, and audits conformance to requirements.
Creates environmental training content and conducts training sessions for internal and external environmental education and awareness campaigns.
Completes environmental compliance reporting requirements for the above assigned areas of responsibility. Collects appropriate data, completes accurate calculations, and prepares timely reports for submittal to regulatory agencies.
Maintains THE CLIENTS environmental website and IT application development related to the above assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Obtains environmental data, develops and conducts required calculations, prepares and submits permit applications for the above assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving.
Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Experience:
6 months of internship/co-op experience (preferred).
Basic = knowledge of environmental management in areas such as air, wastewater, solid & hazardous waste, toxic chemical management, and regulations
Basic = leadership, project management, communication, and teamwork experience
Intermediate = experience with Microsoft packages
Intermediate = experience with customized databases and software
Basic = experience with planning, conducting, and leading ISO 14001 EMS audits
Education
BA/BS degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry or equivalent of 4 years of related experience in environmental compliance and reporting for a complex industrial manufacturing operation.
Discipline
Intermediate = 1-3 years communication/interpersonal skills
Intermediate = 1-3 years computer skills (Microsoft Office) with emphasis on Excel, Word, and SAP
Basic = German or Spanish (a plus)
