Role Overview: Field Engineer
As a Field Engineer with United Infrastructure Group, you will be responsible for on-site project administration, engineering, and scheduling. You will work closely with project managers and construction teams to manage daily operations, monitor budgets, and ensure project documentation and schedules are updated and aligned with project goals. This role plays a critical part in the successful execution of large-scale heavy highway construction projects.
Typical Duties Include but Are Not Limited To:
- Manage and oversee routine project documentation and scheduling activities on site
- Review subcontractor pay estimates and prepare owner pay estimates for management approval
- Supervise and maintain project cost reports and lead review meetings with stakeholders
- Oversee project Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule and update as needed
- Manage and maintain project document control systems
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure work aligns with project scope and schedule
- Identify potential project issues early and develop recommended solutions
- Assist with preparation of job budgets, change orders, and forecasting reports for managerial review
- Provide support during project review meetings and present technical data when necessary
Qualifications:
- BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in heavy/highway construction
- Experience on projects over $20 million in value
- Familiarity with grading, drainage, paving, bridge construction, retaining walls, and other highway construction scopes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; JDEdwards experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong time management skills
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods during a regular 8+ hour shift
- Occasionally required to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb
- Must be able to frequently lift at least 25 lbs and carry up to 15 lbs
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to walk on uneven ground and work at heights up to 60 feet
- Exposure to dust, dirt, grease, noise, and construction-related materials
Work Environment:
- Outdoor field work at active construction sites in various weather conditions
- Regular exposure to heavy equipment, moving machinery, and construction materials
- May require climbing scaffolding, ladders, and accessing confined or elevated workspaces
- Work may involve substances such as oil, concrete, fuel, and related construction materials

- Open to working different shifts as needed
- Have reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Willing to travel for multi-state project assignments
