Essential Job Functions:Plans, organizes, and supervisors the work of collection crews; inspects the quality and quantity of work produced by the crews; prepares various reports; maintains and reviews vehicle maintenance reports; prepares accident reports and employee evaluations; investigates citizen complaints; trains new employees on techniques and methods.

Must be available to work Monday through. Must be available to work overtime as needed.

Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, techniques, and equipment used for yard waste collection; knowledge of geographical locations within the city; knowledge of City policy and procedures.

Skills/Abilities: Ability to supervise the work of subordinates; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, employees and the public; ability to do simple mathematical calculations, to operate grease gun, small hand tools, and pickup truck.

Physical Requirements: Constantly sees and hears; frequently climbs, sorts, sits, walks, cleans, writes by hand, uses a calculator, twist body, stands, drive and files; infrequently crawls, squats, stoops, carries, drags, holds, lifts, pulls and pushes objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Education/Experience: High school graduate or equivalent. Minimum three (3) years' experience in heavy equipment maintenance; minimum one (1) year of experience working with crews in a supervisory capacity.Must possess a valid Class C driver's license with a good driving record. Other state valid Driver's License equivalent to Texas Class C with a good driving record will be considered. Texas state law requires within 30 days of residency, you must possess a valid Texas driver's license. Applicant selected for hire will be subject to a background investigation and drug/alcohol screen test.
