How will you contribute to the team?

  • Initial Project Setup:
    • Establish mechanism to track project schedules with monthly (eventually weekly) reports, schedule change/risk management, and monthly schedule forecasts. Establish resourcing plan to support workstream mobilizations required by the project. Coordinate and liaise with planners representing the Design, and Construction teams.
    • Develop CQV Schedule that will support the planning, scheduling, documentation thru IQ/OQ/PQ activities. The role will include supporting documentation and scheduling under supervision of the master planner and support the master validation planning. The focus will be on supervised preparation and updating bar-chart or critical path method (CPM) schedules, performance analysis and reporting of contractor schedules, to include preparation of dashboards for management reporting.
    • Supports senior scheduling staff, the project team and stakeholders with time management and control.
    • Develops and updates summary level as well as detailed schedules.
    • Develops lists of design, procurement, construction and post construction activities based on review of design documents, examination of site conditions and discussions with Owners, design consultants and contractors.
    • Identifies major milestones, critical approvals and long lead procurement items.
    • Determines reasonable schedule logic and constraints based on discussion with task owners and/or teams.
    • Develops realistic activity durations based on production rates and available manpower based on discussion with task owners and/or teams.
    • Assigns resources (cost, labor or material) to activities and develops cash flow reports and resource histograms.
    • Evaluates critical and near critical path activity sequences.
    • Assesses actual progress based on site inspections.
    • Identifies schedule changes and trends.
    • Develops earned value reports.
    • Suggests corrective actions and/or develop recovery plans when delays are anticipated or occur.
    • Reviews EPC and Contractor prepared schedules.
    • Prepares post construction as-built schedules and lessons learned reports.
    • Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
  • Complexity (Variety or uniqueness of tasks; relative difficulty or importance of work performed; size of unit supported, etc.): Work involves conventional practice but may include a variety of complex features.
  • Decision Making (Supervision received; independent judgment or initiative; consequence of error): Most assignments are performed independently. Makes decisions on technical problems and methods. Receives approval on proposed plans for projects and general direction as to results expected or on unusual problems.
  • Work direction given to others (Titles and number of personnel; type of direction given): Supervises, gives work direction to, and/or reviews the work of junior technical staff and/or others who assist in specific assignments.
  • Internal Contacts (Required interaction/relationship with others within the organization): Interfaces with senior technical staff and technical managers.
  • External Contacts (Required interaction/relationship with others outside the organization): Routinely interfaces with clients.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelors degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field, plus four years relevant experience.
  • Certification with AACE, PMI or CMAA is preferred.
  • Must have strong to excellent understanding of CPM (Critical Path Method) concepts and calculations; strong to excellent understanding of earned value concepts, calculations, and rules of credit; proficiency in Primavera scheduling products; and report preparation skills.
  • Must thoroughly understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
  • Must be highly articulate, have clear and analytical approach to problem solving and strong decision making abilities.
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
