Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) certification and over 10 years of experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for completing concrete or steel building designs using AutoCAD for government facilities, working independently or as part of a team. This role includes occasional site visits, attending client meetings, and handling meeting comments. You will be involved in design builds for small to mid-size federal projects, encompassing design, drafting, specifications, structural analysis, proposals, and procurement. Additionally, you will perform engineering calculations, prepare reports, specifications, and data tables, all under the guidance of the lead Architect.

Responsibilities

  • Complete concrete or steel building designs using AutoCAD for government facilities.
  • Work independently or collaboratively on design builds for federal projects.
  • Conduct site visits and attend client meetings, addressing meeting comments.
  • Design, draft, and specify structural elements for projects.
  • Perform structural analysis and prepare proposals and procurement documents.
  • Execute engineering calculations and prepare comprehensive reports and specifications.
Essential Skills
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification is required.
  • AutoCAD proficiency is essential.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Strong background in structural analysis and concrete or steel design.
  • Civil or Structural Engineering degree.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Revit proficiency is advantageous.
  • Must be willing to submit to a federal drug and background check.
  • US citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
  • Willingness to obtain clearance in the future.
Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $67.31 - $72.12/hr.
