Job Title: Construction Operations Manager
Job Description
Join a reputable cement contractor as a Construction Operations Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of projects. You will work closely with various project teams, providing operational and scheduling support, and act as a liaison between the office and field construction. This position demands effective communication to relay construction requirements to project teams promptly.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, and contractors to plan, schedule, and oversee projects.
- Manage and allocate company resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment.
- Monitor crew labor costs and hours.
- Prepare a 'two-week planning schedule' and communicate with the Project Manager.
- Communicate a two-day schedule to foremen.
- Place concrete orders 2-4 days in advance and make changes by 1:00 PM daily.
- Collect time for hourly field employees.
- Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and customers through effective communication and quality of service.
- Participate in resolving problems as requested by field construction managers and foremen.
- Mentor and coach construction employees to excel in their field.
- Conduct visual safety overviews of job sites, identifying hazards, traffic, and other construction activities.
- Coordinate with other trades to align and establish location and continuation of work before manpower is assigned to the job.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of experience in construction supervision, whether in subcontracting or general contracting.
- Leadership qualities, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and industry best practices.
- Clean driving record.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering.
- Concrete experience.
Work Environment

You will work directly with the operations manager and enjoy company-paid benefits, year-end bonuses, and profit sharing. The role involves 70% fieldwork and 30% office work, with a company vehicle provided. Majority of job sites are within a 2-hour radius of the office. During the busy season, expect 11-12 hour days or 50-60 hour workweeks.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $52.00/hr.
