Summary of Job Duties: The Senior G&C Analyst is responsible for supporting promotion board funded projects and assisting in the financial closeout of UADA grants.The Senior G&C Analyst will work closely with the Assc VP for ANR to ensure commodity board funding is monitored closely from proposal submission through financial closeout. This position will provide regular updates to commodity board project directors on the status of funding which includes timely setup and notification of new grant numbers as well as timely invoicing and grant closeout.
The Senior Analyst position will serve as Effort Reporting Reviewer for all commodity funded grants, making sure quarterly reports are appropriately reviewed before certified.
The Senior Grants and Contracts Analyst will be responsible for making sure grant balances are reconciled for both trial balance and budget for fiscal closeout. Also responsible for reviewing all ledger activiity including Actuals and Encumbrances to ensure resolution and closeout.
This position will also work closely with the Grant & Contract Analysts in OSP to implement and maintain grant financial closeout procedures. The Grant Specialist will complete the grant closeout checklist for UADA terminated grants. The grant checklist completion will include submitting budget closeout amendments, making accounting adjustments for any grant overages, as well as reviewing and resolving any trial balance account issues and inactivating both awards and grants. This will also involve working with the Finance team to trouble-shoot and resolve any commitments and obligations related to terminated grants.
Additionally, the Sr. Grants & Contracts Analyst will assist sponsored programs staff in all fiscal activities from awards set-up, awards management and award closeout.
This position would work routinely with Financial Services personnel, administrative specialists, faculty and Dept Heads.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in business administration, accounting or related field of study. Familiarity with fundamental business, accounting or financial software. Proficient in MS Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Workday financial management system.
Experience with federal, state and private grants and contracts.
Experience analyzing and reconciling accounts.
Masters in Business Administrator or Certified Research Administrator.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to speak & write clearly & communicate ideas successfully. Ability to organize, plan, & prioritize work. Ability to attend to details while simultaneously handling multiple projects. Proficient in excel and MS suite. Ability to analyze, interpret, & apply relevant regulations, policies, & procedures. Initiative to learn & maintain current knowledge in area of assignment. Physical & mental ability to effectively perform duties & responsibilities related to the job, which may include long & irregular hours of work.
