What you’ll do as a ISP Telcom Foreman
As a hands-on leader, you will oversee field teams and ensure the safe, high-quality installation and maintenance of inside plant systems. Your work will involve:
- Leading crews in the installation of equipment, cable racking, fiber systems, and other ISP infrastructure
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and job scopes
- Coordinating job site activities, materials, and timelines to meet project goals
- Performing or overseeing testing, turn-up, and commissioning of advanced network systems (e.g., ROADM, CRAN, DWDM)
- Ensuring all work complies with safety, quality, and customer standards
- Serving as the primary on-site contact for clients and project managers
- Mentoring junior technicians and fostering a team-first culture
- Completing daily reports and progress documentation
- Traveling to job sites (4x10 work schedule), including overnight stays as needed
What you’ll need
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in ISP/Central Office environments
- Strong understanding of test equipment, network commissioning, and fiber infrastructure
- Proven leadership experience in a Foreman, Crew Lead, or equivalent role
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and plans
- Competence in using basic and advanced hand tools
- Solid computer literacy and comfort working with digital reporting systems
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work overhead
- Valid Driver’s License and authorization to work in the U.S.
- Willingness to travel and lead field crews on multiple-day assignments
$25-$30+hr depending on experience
