Responsible for repair and operation of all air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
Responsibilities- Acts as a member of the Fire Brigade.
- Independently operates all equipment necessary to achieve requisite chilled water to the complex. Cleans and maintains all such equipment.
- Takes readings and log findings.
- Takes console watch, log calls, and dispatches work.
- May be required to perform general maintenance tasks related to other departmental shops or takes necessary steps to maintain normal, consistent operation of equipment, and spaces coming under the jurisdiction of the Department.
- May be required to assist or perform supervised duties on systems relating to heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning.
- In case of Hospital emergency, the employee must perform other duties necessary to ensure the welfare of patients, staff, visitors, and the efficient operation of the Medical Center. The Supervisor will assign these duties.
- May be required to perform duties of a maintenance worker and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of domestic refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment.
- Demonstrated familiarity with the maintenance of industrial air-conditioning equipment.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Good attention to detail and ability to resolve non familiar problems related to job responsibilities.
- Ability to fully utilize BHMC’s electronic record systems, equipment and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Licenses, Certifications:
- Certificate of Qualification to operate unlimited tonnage refrigeration machinery.
- EPA Approved – Certification for the handling of all refrigerants.
Physical Requirements:
- Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day.
- Position will be required to stoop, bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
