Overview

The Facilities Projects Planner-Scheduler is responsible for the effective planning, scheduling, and monitoring of projects managed by the Facility Projects department. The position will maintain Facility Project's multi-year facility enhancement program, project log and develop tracking tools that will effectively collect data for the planning and scheduling of all Facility Project's major capital enhancement. Assists Facility Projects personnel in all phases of project planning to ensure the projects remain on schedule, from project conception through completion, including the maintenance of project documentation.

Responsibilities

•Maintains the accuracy of Facility Projects Master Facility Plan by tracking updates that have been performed at the Company’s fleet of facilities. The plan provides specific details of each company facility documenting space utilization and key maintenance history.
•Works directly with Facility Projects management and internal customers to create a multi-year capital enhancement schedule used by management to ensure proper utilization of department resources over time.
•Creates and regularly maintains detailed schedules in Microsoft Project of all facilities projects to ensure milestones are achieved and forecasts are met. Works with facility project coordinators to use project schedules to assist in the development of monthly forecasts.
•Assists in the development of internal processes related to the execution of planned and unplanned capital enhancement projects, including managing the process flow of project requests from internal customers. Assists in the project closeout process.
•Monitors the progress of projects toward the completion of annual capital enhancement projects by coordinating schedule updates with project coordinators and designers and providing regular progress reports to management regarding each project’s adherence to scope and schedule.
•Facilitates regular capital enhancement project status review meetings with the department.
•Works with architects, engineers, general contractors and the Facility Projects team to ensure the development of plans and specifications, acquisition of construction permits, development of construction estimates, and construction bids are completed on schedule.
•Interacts with internal budgeting departments to ensure major capital projects meet deadlines needed for Investment Committee approval.
•Foster a safe, collaborative work environment with internal customers and business partners.
•Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in facility management, construction planning or project management experience, on a year-for-year basis

Reqjired Experience

Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Project and other Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

•Engineering or Construction Management degree
•Demonstrate excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, time-management and decision-making skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects. Certifications from any of the following are preferred - IFMA (International Facility Management Association); BOMA (Building Owners & Managers Association); PMI (Project Management Institute); or Six Sigma Certification. Working knowledge of construction documents and processes, including budgeting and procurement/purchasing processes.
