You will become part of Civil section responsible of design and construction works of our new lines or upgrading the existing lines through large scale projects. We are a team of 12 engineers, project managers representing 7 different nationalities across 2 locations in Denmark and Poland. We have expertise in structural and civil engineering, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering as well as project management.
What you will be doing:
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who will take the Civil M (Mechanical) role to coordinate and manage mechanical design and construction activities in Civil M area in relation to the new investment projects in Rockwool Group. It's his or her responsibility to represent Rockwool Group Technology in close coordination with multiple stake holders and teams located in different countries. Analytical thinking, solid construction experience, and excellent communication skills will be essential for the Mechanical Engineer role described. The job location is in Rockwool Office in Poznan, Poland though extensive travel within and outside Poland should be expected.
More specifically, you will:
- Ensure that equipment within the factory with a demand for utilities are supplied where required. Including main utility supply strategy, tank requirements and installations, pump supply, dimensioning, and redundancy (back-up supply) considerations
- Lead and execute design and construction activities within the scope area described below
- Be responsible for Civil M project scope related quality, budget, time schedule, certification, approvals, and health & safety checks
- Be gathering requirements from process related equipment - in close cooperation with process engineers
- Support civil design consultant and all design related activities including permits in coordination with factory and process teams related to area of scope
- Support design specifications and tender documents within area of scope
- Manage main and sub-contractors within area of scope
- Give input and follow-up time schedule for mechanical activities in accordance with Overall Project Master Plan
- Implement health & safety set-up and daily application through Site Safety Supervisor
- Coordinate with Factory organization during design and site activities within area of scope
- Be responsible for the on-site coordination with other responsible engineers
- Communicate with core team and stakeholders
- Be proactive in all the responsibilities described above
- No restriction to travel, extensive travel activity should be expected

Water treatment (reverse osmosis plants)
Fire water supply - living up to FLPM (Fire and Loss Preventive Manual - RW group obligatory policy) and local regulation where applicable
Rain water collection, treatment and reuse (soil, surface and ground water protection MMR - Minimum Mandatory Requirement RW group policies)
Erosion and Sedimentation - storm water management (coordination with entrepreneur)
Drainage and sewage
Oxygen and CO2
Natural Gas
Building heat (gas)
Process equippemnt supply
HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, A/C)
Firefighting - with use of oxygen suppression systems
Cranes, hoists and other special parts
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree within Mechanical Engineering (Environmental Engineering or similar preferred)
- Master's degree in Mechanical engineering and/or project management is preferred
- At least 5 year of work experience is required
- Written and spoken English language to a high professional business level is a must
- Project execution record in large scale projects is preferred
- Working experience with multinational teams and stakeholders is an asset
- Industrial project experience is preferred
- Familiarity with Prince 2 is preferred
- Driving license
- Polish supervision certificate is not required
