Job Description

Job Title: Roofer Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt

Reports to: Facilities Director Pay Grade: 7

Dept. /School: Facilities Days: 247

Supervises: None

Primary Purpose:

To maintain and make repairs to district roofing systems

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred

Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License with a good driving record

Special Knowledge Skills:

Ability to operate heavy equipment

Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance

Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade

Experience:

3-5 years' experience in building construction with a minimum of 1 year as a roofer

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Operate heavy equipment

Perform minor maintenance on equipment

Site preparation

Haul trash and debris

Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Repair building ceiling tiles

Repair and patch roof leaks

Working Conditions:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent districtwide travel; occasional prolonged or irregular hours. Walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting and carrying. Work outside and around moving objects or vehicles. Exposure to extreme temperatures and loud noises.

Salary:$19 to $26.50 Per Hour
