" - Civil Engineering Technician "Having the feeling that my voice matters and believing that SEH truly cares about the employees is so satisfying!" - Sr Financial Analyst "It feels good having colleagues and supervisors that provide support and resources for growth and learning!" - Civil Engineer "This is the first company I've worked for with a true entrepreneurial spirit." - Sr Mechanical Engineer Why you'll love SEH: Collaborate on amazing projects of varying size and complexity that positively impact communities Being 100% employee-owned means we all share in the company's success Career development through continued education, licensure/certification, skills, and technical training Work arrangements that promote work/life balance Flexible holidays enable individuals to tailor their festivities Paid Family Leave provides time to care for loved ones, whether family by birth or family by choice This Opportunity: Lead and oversee all payroll operations, ensuring timely, accurate processing and full compliance with internal and external deadlines Stay fully cross-trained in payroll execution, ready to step in and run the process seamlessly whenever needed Design, implement, and continuously improve workflows that safeguard payroll accuracy and enhance efficiency Craft and distribute clear, timely internal communications that support understanding and transparency around pay and benefits Serve as the system administrator for payroll software, optimizing functionality and troubleshooting as needed Support annual financial and compliance audits, and take ownership of ESOP and 401(k) audit deliverables, ensuring all stakeholders meet required timelines Gather and analyze employee wage data, preparing accurate reports to determine ESOP contribution eligibility Own the full ESOP administration lifecycle, from contributions and distributions to diversification, working closely with the plan recordkeeper to review and validate data, and ensuring compliance at every step Manage the Fidelity 401(k) platform, including user access, document reviews, and SPD (Summary Plan Description) updates Partner closely with HR to align on benefits strategy, resolve issues, and ensure a smooth employee experience Essential Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Accounting Demonstrated proficiency with Workday software platform, with ability to work in an administrator capacity Demonstrated experience performing all aspects of the payroll function while meeting deadlines and adhering to compliance standards Capability and readiness to independently handle payroll operations at any time, without prior notice Experience managing employee benefit plan, ESOP, 401(k) or related programs Experience with audit processes related to payroll, ESOP, and 401(k) compliance Proven expertise in the development and execution of internal processes designed to streamline and accurately execute the payroll process Experience with payroll software administration and system implementation Experience with ESOP administration or 401(k) plan management Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis) Working knowledge of multistate federal, state, and local payroll regulations (FLSA, tax laws, ACA, etc.) Knowledge of HRIS and accounting systems integration with payroll All offers of employment for this position are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check which meets company standards. Preferred Qualifications: Five (5) years of payroll related experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial role Detail-oriented: Ensuring accuracy in payroll calculations and compliance deadlines Strong analytical skills: Ability to review, analyze, and audit payroll and benefit data Excellent communication skills: Ability to develop and publish internal communications Problem-solving ability: Quickly resolving payroll discrepancies or compliance issues Time management skills: Meeting strict payroll processing and audit deadlines Collaboration: Working effectively with HR, finance and external auditors All offers of employment for this position are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check which meets company standards.
