Electrician - Facility Services

Summary Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains the electrical systems of over 50 City facilities, parking lots, trails, and recreational facilities. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Diagnoses and performs electrical repairs and maintenance up to 480V to all City buildings, parking lots, trails, and recreational facilities, to include, but not limited to, repair and replacement of switches, receptacles, lamps, ballasts, and running electrical conduit, including cutting, bending and installing the conduit. Evaluates replacement part needs, purchases parts for the appropriate contracted vendor, and ensures all work complies with the latest National Electric Code Documents work order status with City's system and turns in all related vendor invoices and purchase receipts Performs backup generator maintenance and testing while monitoring current load on emergency circuits Provides project cost estimates and receive quotes for proposed electric projects that cannot be self-performed, research proposed projects as needed, and evaluates the feasibility and merit of projects Uses a bucket truck to perform lighting maintenance on parking lot lights at heights up to 30 feet Maintains clean work areas, storage areas, and assigned vehicle Complies with all safety standards and uses proper personal protective equipment; attends safety and operational training sessions Provides prompt and courteous service to all internal customers and vendors Performs on-call services (24/7) on a rotating basis with other Facility Maintenance Staff Assists with non-electrical facility maintenance projects on an as-needed basis Follows all financial policies, procedures, and safety guidelines Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Five (5) years of Journeyman electrical level operation, maintenance, and repair experience Preferred Qualifications TDLR Master Electrician License Certificate, Licenses, Registrations Valid Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR) Journeyman Electrician License Valid driver's license
