The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems across campus. This role ensures all systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations. The technician plays a critical role in maintaining a comfortable and functional environment for students, faculty, staff, and guests. This is a full time, year round position which includes a complete benefits package.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including furnaces, boilers, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation units.

- Conduct routine inspections of HVAC systems to ensure proper functionality and identify potential issues.

- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on a scheduled cyclical basis and troubleshoot malfunctioning HVAC equipment.

- Complete work order assignments and utilize our Maintenance management system.

- Diagnose and troubleshoot system problems; repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.

- Adjust system controls to recommended settings and test system performance.

- Maintain records of repairs, calibrations, and preventative maintenance tasks.

- Monitor and maintain building automation systems (BAS) for optimal performance.

- Assist in energy efficiency improvements and sustainability initiatives.

- Follow safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed.

- Collaborate with other facilities staff to support campus-wide maintenance needs.

- Other duties as assigned.
