Star Lumber & Supply Co., Inc. delivers confidence through our products and our people. We are seeking a results-oriented Home Builder Outside Sales person to join our Building Materials new home team.
This role is responsible for managing existing accounts while working to develop new homebuilder business. This person will coordinate closely with the inside sales team, working as a liaison between the homebuilder, customers, sub-contractors and sales staff. This self-starter will possess excellent communication and organization skills and the drive to achieve goals.
A Typical Day:
Call on existing accounts to build relationships, sell and respond to customer needs
Continuous prospecting and developing new business accounts
Visit jobsites to assure contractors have the necessary materials and to provide assistance as needed
Review customer blueprints and complete material takeoffs
Execution of detailed monthly sales and gross profit goals
Maintain high level of customer service through organization of tasks and responsibilities
Active participation in various new home builder organizations
Build effective relationships with team members and key stakeholders
Monitor and communicate on the status of customer jobs and accounts through the building process
Requirements2+ years of sales experience
Demonstrated work in growing new business
Experience with sales and profit goals in a commission-based pay system
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design layouts
Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of customers, verbally and written
Knowledge of the new home building process and building materials
Valid drivers license
Some evening and weekend work when required
Preferred Experience
Knowledge of Microsoft office and IOS applications
Demonstrate the ability to resolve conflict and/or manage difficult conversations
