Summary:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager is responsible for the completion of Multi-Disciplinary Projects as Electrical Project Engineer for a Cement Manufacturing Plant.
What youll be contributing:
- Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines
Electrical
- Electrical Motors (from Low voltage to Medium Voltage)
- Plant Instrumentation including pressure, temperature, Flow, Level, weigh scales /feeders and vibration sensors and transmitters ( + design specification and Application in the Industrial environment)
- VFDs low voltage to medium voltage ( up to 5000 HP) and Cyclo-converter drives for Large motors (8000HP)
Automation
Expert user level knowledge and Hands-on Experience:
- Plant Control system Rockwell Platform Expert user level experience with Programming of Functional Descriptions within Plant control system and troubleshooting as needed.
- I/O and FAT testing new Installation system
- Field PLC configuration and design
- Plant control system network design and protocols
- HMI and DCS control system practical and hands on experience of building /configuring Mimics within an existing HMI interface for new installations
- High level control system experience
- TDM/TIS (ABB product) Plant information management system
Power
- Power distribution system ( 40 MW facility) including Plant substation
- High voltage disconnects, Breakers and Incoming switches
- MCC ( Motor control circuits)
- Transformers
- Power metering and Plant power management system
- Plant Lighting system
Responsibilities will include to complete projects within timeframe and budget, maintaining and on modifications to the plant control systems in accordance with company policies and legislation and standards; interfacing with other functional groups to maintain safe and efficient facilities and processes.
- Project Management provide estimates and justifications; execute conceptual designs; engage consultants; prepare contracts; vendor selection; monitoring construction; controlling costs; commissioning; and customer handover for capital and non-capital projects
- Assist in the development and implementation of CAPEX automation projects and 5 year business planning
- Make recommendations for improvement in the areas of Energy Conservation, Quality Control, and Plant Maintenance by analyzing data and diagnosing control problems
- Plan automation projects and develop capital investment recommendations for the plant
- Manage automation projects both capital and maintenance
- Maintain and develop interface for TDM/TIS, PXP and PCS systems
- Continually improve operations by analyzing problems and optimizing control systems
- Build effective partnerships with other organizational units and shared services to maximize best practices to achieve operational excellence
- Develops plans to eliminate repetitive control system failures
- Participates in the Reliability Teams activities
- Conducts and maintains plant control system equipment condition assessments
- Keeps current with permitting requirements and all applicable codes and standards
- Ensures data is provided for new equipment/assets to be loaded into SAP w/ BOMs, nameplate data etc
- Manages and updates plant drawing and technical document database related to the control system
- Ensures assets transferred to asset ledger and functional locations assigned
- Assists the Reliability Group in providing spare parts and PMR strategy for new equipment
- Application of engineering procedures and processes
- Work jointly with Maintenance Team to develop maintenance plans for plant control systems
- Analyze efficiency develop operating models and implementing steps for improvement as required
- Coordinate with other team members to deliver seamless service to customer
- Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
To succeed in this position, you will need:
- University Degree with discipline in Electrical/Electronics Engineering in preferred
- Minimum 7 years of work experience is preferred.
- Experience in heavy manufacturing industry is preferred (cement, steel, mining)
- Project Management Certification/Training
- Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
- Safety oriented and sound knowledge of OH&S policies, procedures and regulations
- Computer literate for all MS Office (incl. MS Project) and AutoCAD software
- Analysis and Problem Solving - Effectively examines events, issues and problems to generate optimal solutions in a timely manner
