SUMMARY: The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and preventative maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as required.

2. Comply with Sunny Delight Beverage’s policies and procedures.

3. Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.

4. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

5. Perform simple machining and fabrication.

6. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

7. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.

8. Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

9. Must be able to lift upwards of 50lbs occasionally.

10. Work in and out-of-doors in the seasonal ranges of temperature and humidity.

11. Climb stairs, ladders, platforms, etc. on equipment and building structures for the purpose of inspecting, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting.

12. Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and use both hands for repetitive grasping, and lifting.

13. Works with other resources to improve line/equipment performance to meet KPI (key performance indicators).

14. Demonstrates consistent ability to maintain daily records of downtime and equipment efficiency records to document performance opportunities

15. Comply with Sunny Delight Beverage’s policies, procedures and GMP guidelines.

16. Performs other duties as assigned.

17. Train employees in proper equipment usage.

18. Perform administrative computer tasks as needed.

19. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None

WORK INSTRUCTIONS TO POSITION SOPs are critical to meet customer specifications and maintenance of food safety, quality and process efficiency. Operator’s manual available on each line.

WORK SAFETY Ensures that all tasks and functions of position are performed in a safe manner at all times and that all procedures and requirements are properly followed to accomplish assigned tasks.

FOOD SAFETY/QUALITY Responsible for food safety and quality as well as reporting food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority if unable to initiate action.

BACKUP COVERAGE In the absence of this position, an Electronic Technician or another Maintenance Mechanic A shall cover the absence.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE HS Diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of industrial/mechanical/electrical trade school or 5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or electrician in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to attend all job-related training classes to increase job knowledge and improve job performance. This also encourages confidence and sense of accomplishment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures and customer specifications. Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts using a calculator.

REASONING ABILITY to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Data entry is helpful
